Robert Fluegge is the Beal Family Hoover Fellow at the Hoover Institution, a Fellow in the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies in the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and an Associate at Opportunity Insights in the Division of Social Science at Harvard University.
His primary research applies empirical methods to study the role of interpersonal networks in fostering economic opportunity and business creation. Robert’s recent work investigates the importance of networks for aspiring entrepreneurs, with particular emphasis on the ways in which network data can inform targeted economic development policies. His past work provides new network-based measurement of “social capital” and demonstrates the importance of connections across socioeconomic groups for economic mobility in the United States.
Robert received his PhD in Economics from Harvard University and his BA in Applied Mathematics from Harvard College.
